Categories, Criteria and Prizes

The Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival Business Competition has four categories:


• Business Improvement Association (BIA)

• Greater Business Area - Non agricultural

• Greater Business Area - Agricultural

• Community Services (Schools, Museums, Community Living, Community Halls)

And of course:

• The Best of the Best chosen from the winners of the other categories.

Entries are judged on:
  • Originality
  • Creativity & Effort
  • Use of Natural Products
The judges recommend that you try and incorporate the purpose of the business in the display. Often the Invasion has a special theme but as long as Scarecrows are part of the display it is not mandatory to follow the special theme.

Prizes include:
  • Scarecrow Plaques,
  • Media Package
